DESCRIPTION:Indivisible Rapid City to Protest Trump and Elon Musk at City Hall \nRapid City\, SD – On March 22\, 2025\, from Noon to 2:00 PM\, Indivisible Rapid City will take to the streets in protest against Donald Trump and Elon Musk\, standing in defense of democracy\, workers\, veterans\, and the future of public education. The protest\, titled “Be the Light! We Are the Resistance!”\, will be held in front of City Hall in Rapid City\, SD\, as part of a nationwide effort to push back against policies that threaten American families and public institutions. \nWhy We Are Protesting \nSince regaining power\, Donald Trump has launched a full-scale assault on critical government services and democratic institutions: \n• Education: Trump’s administration has gutted funding for public schools and federal student aid\, while diverting billions to private and religious institutions. His education policies are designed to dismantle the Department of Education\, undermining access to quality public education for millions of students. \n• Veterans: Trump’s agenda has slashed funding for VA hospitals and privatized key services\, leaving veterans struggling to receive the care and benefits they earned. His administration’s rollbacks have worsened mental health support and housing assistance for veterans in need. \n• Federal Workers: Trump has attacked federal employees’ rights\, slashing job protections and pushing for mass layoffs under the guise of “government efficiency.” He is reviving efforts to fire civil servants en masse and replace them with political loyalists. \n• Medicaid: Millions of low-income Americans are at risk as Trump pushes for severe cuts to Medicaid and new work requirements\, restricting healthcare access for the most vulnerable\, including the elderly and disabled. \n \n
