FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
RAPID CITY, SD — Saturday, April 26, 2025 — Indivisible Rapid City will host a peaceful protest on Saturday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM outside City Hall (300 6th Street), along the public sidewalks on Omaha Street, to demand the protection of due process as a fundamental constitutional right and to speak out against ongoing human rights violations.
The demonstration aims to raise awareness about the erosion of due process protections in America’s legal and immigration systems, emphasizing that due process is not a privilege reserved only for U.S. citizens, but a right guaranteed to all people under the Constitution.
“Due process is the backbone of a functioning democracy,” said a volunteer of Indivisible Rapid City. “When we allow basic legal protections to be stripped away from anyone, we weaken justice for everyone.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring their voices and their values to the sidewalks—standing in solidarity for a more just, inclusive, and lawful society. This protest is peaceful, nonpartisan, and open to all.
