50501 in Partnership with Indivisible Rapid City: The People’s Movement Arrives in Rapid City to Unite Against Oppression & Dictatorship
Rapid City, SD — South Dakotans will join a nationwide call to action on Saturday, April 5th, as part of the 50501: The People’s Movement, a grassroots effort uniting communities across all 50 states against oppression, dictatorship, and threats to democracy.
The peaceful protest, hosted by 50501 South Dakota in partnership with Indivisible Rapid City, will be held at City Hall, 300 6th Street, Rapid City, SD 57701, from Noon to 2 PM.
This event is part of a bold national campaign: “50 States, 50 Protests, 1 Movement.” The goal is to raise awareness, build solidarity, and empower individuals to defend democracy and stand up for human rights in the face of increasing authoritarianism and injustice.
“South Dakota has always stood for freedom and fairness,” said a representative from Indivisible Rapid City. “We are gathering peacefully to remind our leaders—and each other—that the power of the people is stronger than the people in power.”
The event will include speakers, community organizers, and local activists, with a focus on peaceful demonstration, civic engagement, and unified action. Organizers encourage all community members who believe in democracy, equality, and justice to attend and make their voices heard.
